Who is Insan Wisata Kids?
Insan Wisata Kids is Indonesia’s pioneering child-friendly trip organizer and your trusted Adventure Companion for Little Explorers and their families. We believe that exploration is education, creating meaningful journeys where children aged 2.5 to 15 years and their parents learn directly from nature, local culture, and communities through fun, immersive experiences.
What is Insan Wisata Kids' mission?
Our mission is to:
- Inspire environmental awareness from an early age, helping Little Explorers grow into a generation that understands and cares for nature.
- Unlock the unique potential of every destination by transforming it into a living classroom, not just a place to visit.
- Strengthen family bonds through shared adventures and meaningful experiences.
- Build a regenerative travel community, where every journey creates a positive impact for local communities and partner destinations.
- Collaborate with local partners to develop their communities and destinations in a sustainable and long-term way.
What age group are your programs designed for?
Our programs are specially designed for Little Explorers aged 2.5 to 15 years, accompanied by their parents or family members. We also welcome preschool-aged children, who are often overlooked by similar educational travel programs.
What activities are included in your programs?
Every activity is thoughtfully designed to help Little Explorers do more than simply enjoy the journey. Our programs encourage children to build meaningful connections with nature, local culture, and the communities they visit through fun, interactive, and hands-on experiences, including:
- Nature exploration to discover local biodiversity and ecosystems firsthand.
- Arts and cultural workshops, featuring traditional dance, local crafts, and regional music led by community members.
- Learning through play, with activities that nurture curiosity, empathy, and responsibility toward nature and local culture.
- Storytelling and local folklore, introducing children to the history, values, and wisdom of each destination.
- Responsible travel activities that encourage children to care for the environment and support local communities.
Through these experiences, Little Explorers learn that travel is not just about visiting new places—it’s about understanding, appreciating, and helping protect the nature and culture they encounter.
How do your programs benefit the environment and local culture?
Our programs go beyond creating memorable experiences for Little Explorers. Every journey is designed to leave a positive impact on the environment, celebrate local culture, and support the communities we partner with.
Rather than being just visitors, Little Explorers become young changemakers who learn to appreciate, protect, and care for the places they explore. We believe that nurturing respect and appreciation from an early age is the strongest foundation for long-term environmental and cultural conservation.
Are local communities involved in the programs?
Absolutely. We believe local communities are more than just part of the destination—they are the heart of the learning experience. Little Explorers don’t simply visit a place; they learn directly from the people who know it best.
That’s why every program actively involves local community members as workshop facilitators, cultural educators, activity guides, and service providers. These authentic interactions help children develop empathy, respect for diversity, and a deeper appreciation for the unique traditions and local wisdom of each destination.
At the same time, we ensure that every journey benefits the host community. By working closely with local partners, our programs support local livelihoods, help preserve cultural heritage, and create meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships.
How does Insan Wisata Kids promote sustainable travel?
We don’t just introduce Little Explorers to nature—we inspire them to care for it. Sustainability is woven into every journey as a meaningful part of the experience, not simply an added feature.
Our environmental initiatives include:
- Providing more eco-friendly food and beverage options.
- Minimizing the use of single-use plastics throughout our programs.
- Supporting conservation activities, including wildlife conservation and release programs where appropriate.
- Our “One Traveler, One Mangrove” initiative, where every participating family automatically contributes to planting a mangrove tree in one of our partner villages.
Our commitment continues long after each journey ends. We provide ongoing training and support to our partner communities, helping them strengthen sustainable tourism practices and create lasting positive impact. A portion of the proceeds from every program is also dedicated to supporting the One Traveler, One Mangrove initiative.
How do local communities benefit economically from your programs?
Every Insan Wisata Kids program is designed around the unique character and strengths of each destination. This means local communities are not simply involved—they are essential partners in delivering every experience.
Their contributions create direct and meaningful economic opportunities, including:
- Serving as facilitators and educators, earning income through their knowledge, skills, and participation.
- Showcasing local products, such as traditional crafts, food, and beverages, as an integral part of the experience rather than just souvenirs.
- Providing meals and catering, with food prepared by local community members whenever possible.
We believe that truly meaningful travel benefits everyone—including the people who preserve, protect, and share the places that make each journey special.
